I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Ex twice unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
